Insurance is arranged.  It is soon apparent there is a massive London risk premium for theft.  If I input my parent’s address the premium is a fifth of that for my address.  Exact same details.  Exact same info.  But 5x more expensive in London.

An aside – I refer to this as the unseen London crime tax.  We pay for the police and they need ever more money to cope with crime.  The thing is the true cost of crime is much larger, the huge insurance premiums for London are an additional burden on those paying tax to pay for the state to police and provide support to the scumbags.  I am a firm believer that 99% of people are decent but it only takes a few to spoil it all.  Why suspended sentences for repeated theft and assault?  The US reduces crime by locking up criminals.  The UK?  Not so much.  The Brexit and Trump obsessed Mayor is not fixing motorcycle and scooter crime in London but is instead campaigning to be the next Labour leader.

The crime wave is no longer a wave but an ever rising surge.  Fuelled by social media and the competitive nature of young men it is becoming ever more brazen.  The use of battery powered grinders and machetes are everyday occurrences.  Literal daylight highway robbery is happening as couriers, delivery riders, or just commuters are threatened, attacked and sometimes murdered for their scooters.

The news had a report of a police driver who, during the use of “tactical contact” with a moped thief caused the scumbag to receive an injury.  The police officer, rather than bring praised and rewarded, is effectively on trial at a disciplinary hearing for not being sufficiently careful and knocking the aforementioned scumbag off without due care to the scumbag’s wellbeing.  As with all of these events it highlights just how out of touch those who run the system are with ordinary people.  People who are sick to death of the costs of crime and just want severe treatment for those running wild.  Follow @stolen_london on twitter for updates on the crime wave, if you dare.
